We refer to your letter dated 5 July 2002, reference MM-020705-42427, with regard to the above article appearing in the Nanyang Siang Pau, Nanyang Business Section, Friday, 5 July 2002, in particular, to a statement that states that Tan Chong may lose Nissan’s distributorship.
To the best of our knowledge, the statement quoted is unfounded. There is no discussion between Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., Japan and our Company with regard to any change in the sole distributorship position of the Group.
The Company will make the appropriate announcement, in accordance with KLSE guidelines, if and when there is any change or development on our status.

Section, Friday, 5 July 2002, a copy of which is enclosed for your reference.
