We refer to your letter dated 20th March 2001 with regard to the above article appearing in The Business Times, page 15 on Tuesday, 20 March 2001 which carried the following statement:
"There has been talk that Quasar Carriage Sdn. Bhd. may eventually get a piece of the Nissan distributorship..... "
To the best of our knowledge, the statement quoted is unfounded. There has been no discussion with Quasar Carriage Sdn. Bhd. and ourselves.
We would like to confirm that currently there is no discussion between Nissan Motor Japan and Tan Chong with regard to any change in the sole distributorship position of the group. The Company will make the appropriate announcement, in accordance with KLSE guidelines, if and when there is any change or development on our status.

We refer to the above article appearing in The Business Times, Companies and
Markets Section, page 15, on Tuesday, 20 March 2001, a copy of which is
enclosed for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the underlined sentence,
which is
reproduced as follows:-
"There has been talk that Quasar Carriage Sdn Bhd may eventually get a piece of
the
Nissan distributorship..."
